The Second Regoinal Scientific Seminar on "Management of R.T.A & Violence" was held at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on 8th Aug. 2001. The seminar was jointly organiged by the Dept. of Orthopaedics, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society.
Prof. Qazi Shahidul Alam, Director, Medical education and President of Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society graced the occassion as the chief guest and Prof. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Principal, Mymensingh Medical College chaired the session.
Five papers were presented. Open discussion was held which was participated by all those who were present. Everybody agreed that there was a tremendous increase in the number of victims of road traffic accidents and violence. More emphasis was necessary in the service towards these patients and training of doctors in Orthopaedics & Traumatology.
