REPORT OF APOA COUNCIL MEETING
Held during APOA 2001 at 2001 Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide,
Australia, April 1 and 5, 2001

ADMISSION OF MEMBER COUNTRY- BANGLADESH
A petition from Associate Members of Bangladesh, supported by the Council Delegates of Australia, Japan and Philippines was presented. The Council unanimously decided that Bangladesh be admitted as a Member Country. On behalf of APOA, the President warmly welcomed Bangladesh through its representative Prof. Alam, President of Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society, and invited Bangladesh to become a very active member of APOA.

A Member Country Profile of Bangladesh was published in the newsletter. Dr.Md. Iqbal Qavi was appointed the Chief (Contact) Delegate for Bangladesh.
